Sophie and her business partner Jillian Climie co-founded The Thoughtful Co., a consultancy that supports women in negotiating their compensation and advises employers on improving gender equity. They offer their clients 1:1 compensation negotiation support, workshops, and develop programs with brands.

They also work with entrepreneurs and small business owners on rate-setting.

Before co-founding The Thoughtful Co., Sophie was an engineer and in 2018 co-founded Women in Consulting Engineering, a non-profit advocacy group.

She also chairs employee resource groups and advocacy groups, and, as part of The Thoughtful Co., has developed further expertise on compensation and negotiation from Jillian, who has spent her career in executive compensation including at two global retailers.

In this Q&A session, we'll be talking about rates that are beyond the price tags on your products — though you'll be able to take some of the confidence-building tips to your product pricing strategy, too.

Communicating your value, identifying your non-negotiables, methods for rate setting, and navigating commissions and contracts are all on the docket.
