Make your mark: how to ditch the cookie-cutter Canva look and brand like a pro
Standing out online doesn’t mean you need to hire a graphic designer, but it does mean you need to do a little more than plug your logo into a trending Canva template.
In this workshop, Frances Maychak, founder of Frances May Design and one of the reseller behind Lucky Duck Thrift, joined the Vintage Sellers Community to show how small shop owners can build branded, custom-looking graphics without needing to outsource.
Frances shared her process for developing cohesive, authentic graphics using Canva in a way that feels personalized, not generic.
She covered what makes a graphic feel branded, how to start with templates without getting stuck in them, and how to build a library of go-to designs for everything from social media to emails to website banners.

We also explored how consistent branding doesn’t mean every post has to look identical. It just means it should feel like it belongs to your shop.
Frances provided tips on choosing fonts and colours, organizing templates for reuse, and creating assets that reflect your shop’s tone and aesthetic.
Using real examples from member shops, she demonstrated the before-and-after transformation that can happen when you tweak your visuals to match your brand’s personality.
No matter if your style is romantic, rustic, bold, or playful, the goal is to make your graphics feel like a natural extension of your shop’s voice.
